Guest Post: Stylish in Pink

Hi, I'm Susi, a blogger for Arcadian Lighting, a great resource for lighting fixtures and décor inspiration. I am a big fan of all things Lilly so I'm thrilled to be gust blogging at Pink Preppy Lilly Lover today. My guest post is about rooms that are stylish in pink. Some are even inspired by classic Lilly color combinations. Hope you enjoy!

Pink Decor

Pale pink with black piping makes me think of a classic Chanel suit. This well-tailored living room is so chic and stylish with pale pink accents in the sofa and lamp.

Pink Decor

Rich chocolate and pink is a favorite color combination of mine. Adding in pale blue and florals give the bedroom a soft, feminine appeal that isn't super girly.

Pink Decor

Soft pink and navy is a stylish combination for fashion and interiors. This dining room mixes the softest pinks with deep navy for a sophisticated style.

Pink Decor

Stylish pink accents make this desk so chic. From the pink desk lamp to the pink piping on the bench, pink is the perfect feminine accent to crisp white.

Pink Decor

This contemporary pink dining room has tons of style. A mix of black, white and yellow accents create a lively counterpoint to the feminine pink walls. I love the large round mirror flanked by glamorous wall sconces and the chic chandelier.

Pink Decor

Another favorite Lilly inspired colored combination, pink & orange, makes for a stylish duo for a bedroom. This girl's room features classic tailored pieces like box pleat valances and upholstered headboards.

Pink Decor

Okay, so the toys and little shoes indicate that this is a very sophisticated room for a girl, but take those away and it is a chic pink and white space. The lattice patterned pink rug and pink pouf are great ways to add stylish pink to the décor.

Pink Decor

The Lilly lover in me thinks the accent colors in this room should all be kelly green. The pink hanging lantern against the deeper pink and white curtains is beautiful.

Wouldn't you love to have a stylish pink room like one of these? Which one is your favorite?

Beach Chic

I couldn't help but get the tiniest bit excited about warm weather vacation dreaming this morning when I came across these perfectly preppy and adorable beach towels on One Kings Lane.  The Artist Edition collection of beach towels would make perfect gifts for the beach or pool-lover in your life!  The towels are meticulously custom jacquard-woven, which means the design is created in yarn on the loom rather than screen-printed on the towel surface. As such, it will not fade, pale or vanish over time.

Pass the sunscreen and icy cold beverages, please! :)

Pink & Green Thursday: Thankful

(Image via)

Hello again and Happy Pink & Green Thursday!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your feedback on last week's survey.  Over 60 of you took the time to answer the questions and I am happy to share the results with you (note some counts are slightly off due to skipped questions.)

91.2% like Pink & Green Thursday (yay!)

86.9% would be likely to recommend participating in Pink & Green Thursday to your friends

75% have heard of other bloggers mentioning Pink & Green Thursday

63.6% would prefer if Pink & Green Thursday had themes;
39.4% like the flexibility to post whatever inspires them that week

44.1% would like a contest to vote weekly for favorite posts;
58.8% would prefer no contests, just like to meet fellow bloggers with common interests

What could be done to improve Pink & Green Thursday:

(So many of you left the sweetest notes - thank you!)

Many of you like the idea of having a theme, and I agree that it could be helpful in planning out our posts each week.  As you know I never envisioned this linky party to be super strict though, so my thoughts are, how about a weekly suggestion for a theme, and if it works for you, play along, and if not, feel free to post whatever you would like that fits with Pink & Green Thursday, and join the party anyway?

Regarding the voting for favorite posts, maybe every once in a while we'll have a Pink & Green Thursday contest where people can vote on their favorite post.  No pressure, just for fun, and we'll give plenty of notice.  Thoughts?

Last but not least, this reminder was especially important to me.  Whenever taking the time to join the linky party, please take a moment and visit a few of the blogs along the blog hop.  We all remember what it was like when we first started blogging, and reaching out and finding bloggers that you can connect with and develop a relationship is so important.  As I've said before, I have met some of the truly most wonderful people through this blog, and I want to continue to grow and get to know more of you.  Please reach out, and make a new friend or two along the way.

Continuing with my "30 Days of Thankfulness," here are some of my Pink & Green things I am thankful for this week :)

Coat and cashmere sweater weather....

An organized office and a wonderful job....

Chocolatey treats
(pink chocolate chip cookies anyone?!)

Dinner parties with great friends....
(I think Matt would die if he walked in and saw shoes all over the dining room table! ha!)

A little early holiday shopping, and embracing the season!

Merci beaucoup again to all for your feedback,
I'm looking forward to visiting you all along the blog hop below.

Happy Pink & Green Thursday, friends!

Hello November!

I am so happy that we've made it to November, the start of so many wonderful holidays, traditions and celebrations.  I am counting down to both Thanksgiving and Christmas this year, for a plethora of reasons.  So many blessings have come our way this year, and now that we are settling down and planting roots in our beautiful new home, I can't help but reflect on the last year.  I am so very appreciative of all the wonderful things happening in our lives.  Those of you who know me, or have been reading this blog for some time, know that the latter half of last year was a difficult one for me.  I've seen "30 Days of Thankfulness" floating around the web, and I too am going to take the opportunity this month and highlight some of the things I am most thankful for.  Starting today, I'm especially grateful for my wonderful friends and dear readers.  Hugs to you old friends, and a warm welcome to the new followers and friends :)

Happy November!
xoxo

Fun Festive Weekend

Last weekend was a perfectly fall Louisiana weekend, and we were able to celebrate by having my sweet friends Jen and Melanie over for a tour of the new house!  I made pomegranate champagne sparklers, which were so fun and festive.  Just a little bit of pomegranate juice, a handful of pomegranate seeds, and champagne!  We used sparkling grape juice for Jen, who is just a few weeks shy of her due date, and they were equally tasty!  Melanie brought me the gorgeous roses from a local florist we both love, they are picture perfect :)

We ventured to the Broken Egg, a delicious restaurant just a hop and a skip away from our new home.  Current specials on the menu included sweet potato as well as pumpkin pancakes, and crabmeat and andouille sausage omelettes, it all sounded heavenly!  We decided to keep it simple with eggs, english muffins, bacon & eggs, but Jen changed it up a bit, and went with the cheddar grits, pancakes and sausage...love the sweet and savory combo :)  It was all so wonderful, and we got to eat outside together with the sun on our backs, and a nice breeze right off the lake in the air.

Last night I set up in front of our house for Trick or Treat for kids and adults alike :)

Here was the invitation (via cocodot) that I sent our neighbors:

I thought it came out super cute!

We had a nice turnout and a fun mix of neighbors stop by, some that stayed until well after 9 PM!  I made a white cheddar & walnut spread (recipe courtesy of Melanie) for the adults and served it with pita chips and red grapes. I also made tons of homemade cupcakes and had candy galore on hand for the kids.  We had "Bloody Booze" (red wine!) "Tombstone Tonic" (white wine) and a variety of Abita beers for the adults.  It was such a hit!

Miss Jolie was angelic and pranced around the yard in her pink polka dot bow and fairy princess puppy costume.  We're still getting her used to being around little kids...sometimes she gets a little snippy but she really behaved well...and was of course she was stinkin' cute :)

Hope you had a wonderful Halloween too!
xoxo
