Pink & Green Thursday: Back Next Week

(Image via)

Hello dear readers,

Thank you for your patience this month with me on Pink & Green Thursdays!  As you may have noticed I've taken the last few weeks off.   Too much happening and lots of travel back and forth from the West coast and East coast for business.  It also just didn't feel right that I couldn't spend the time to visit with you and comment properly on your pink and green posts.  So!  That being said, next week I'll be back to hosting Pink & Green Thursday's weekly linky party.

Could you be so kind as to answer a few questions for me on this anonymous survey below?  Whether you have participated in the link up before, thought about joining in, or just want to add your thoughts to the mix, your feedback would be most appreciated.  After all, this day is all about you and meeting other bloggers with common interests!

Merci beaucoup in advance!
xoxo

Darling Dresses for Tailgating Season

Last Saturday was Homecoming at my husband's alma mater in Mississippi, and like any girly girl, I love any excuse to get dressed up!  Imagine how tickled I was when I came across The Laughing Giraffe on Etsy...adorable a-line dresses with the most perfect ruffled neckline and contrasting colored sash.  The owner Linda was as sweet as can be, and when I told her the school colors I needed, she immediately emailed me with a custom listing for the dress below.  I was instantly sold!

The dress arrived beautifully packaged and fit perfectly.   For sizing I would order a size down from your normal size due to the shape of the dress.  I ordered the dress in an XXS and Linda took the length up to 30", which on me hit slightly above the knee :)

I would definitely order again from The Laughing Giraffe, exceptional customer service and beautifully made clothing, you can't beat that!  Check out The Laughing Giraffe for other adorable dresses as well as monogrammed children's dresses, longalls and jon jons too.  You won't be disappointed!

Happy tailgating!
xoxo

MudPie Survivor Necklace & Giveaway

(Image via)

Hope...Faith...Cure.  There is nothing I don't love about the photo above with all the pink, attention to detail, and most importantly, the message..."Keep Calm and Fight On."  All of our lives have been touched in one way or another by breast cancer.  October is a perfect month for "Less Talk, More Action" as early detection is key, and it is quick and easy to schedule a mammogram or clinical breast exam.  Life is so precious, and it is critical to get screened regularly to lower your chances of losing your life to breast cancer.

One of my favorite brands (as I have mentioned before) MudPie Designs, offers a beautiful necklace in support of breast cancer awareness.  The 34" antique gold plated iron chain necklace features "STRENGTH", a tree of life and French sentiment plated zinc alloy charms.  The necklace arrives complete in natural pin-stripe gift box with scalloped opening and texture paper reading translation,

"Don't count the days, make the days count."

Live in the present and make it so beautiful that it will be worth remembering.  Wear this necklace to show off your empowering strength.

A portion of all proceeds will go to the National Breast Cancer Foundation whose mission is to increase awareness and provide assistance for those in need. Help for today... Hope for tomorrow.

I am happy to partner with MudPie and giveaway this Survivor necklace to one lucky reader!  If you are looking for yourself, or know of a family member or friend who would really appreciate the beautiful sentiment of this necklace, please do not hesitate to enter below!

Perfect Fall

the perfect fall for me,

contains laughter, fun, colored leaves,

restful peace, perfect bliss,

apple pies and winds crisp kiss,

crunch and crackle, slopes of color,

the fire dances, down slopes the sun,

animals nestle beneath the moon,

foggy mornings coming soon,

for another perfect fall day,

where i can go once more to play.

***

Such a wonderful weekend spent relaxing after a long but successful business trip to Chicago.  Yesterday was full of lots of fall decorating, and I thoroughly enjoyed adding chocolate, leopard, orange polka dot & hot pink grosgrain ribbon to my pumpkins around the house...more pictures to come soon.  :)

I found these heirloom pumpkins on our front porch at a local market and they make me so happy.  The bows add the perfect touch, don't you think?

Off to Salt Lake City this morning, then Orlando through the end of the week.  Not easy to pack for two different climates in one suitcase!   Hope all is well where you are :)  Try the Salted Caramel Mocha at Starbucks - I had one for the first time last week and it was divine...Perfect Fall beverage!

Have a great week!

New Home First Look

(Images via DJ Tumblr)

Well hello October, my how you snuck up on us this year!  It's been an absolute whirlwind the last six weeks as we made the final steps in purchasing our new home, packing and making the move, and now slowly taking our time settling in.  Naturally I wanted to have everything perfect, artwork hung on the walls, fall decorations out on display and a million other things before showing you all pictures, but life has been crazy and I will be gone for the next two weeks on business, so here is a start! :)  (You can click to enlarge the pics.)

This is the beautiful stucco fireplace in the main living area, it is even prettier in person if you can imagine.  The fireplace was originally wood burning, but it has been converted to gas, which works pretty well for us being that we don't need to use it that often...more for ambiance since it doesn't get too cold here in South Louisiana!  The marble top coffee table was a gem I found at a local antique store, it is amazing how perfectly the wood matches the rest of the cabinetry.

The lovely floral arrangement was an Anniversary gift from my parents, and the coffee table books are a small selection from my library.  I love changing out the books frequently depending on the season and mood.

I just love how open the living room area feels, it is so peaceful.  Our lot is on almost two acres, and in the backyard we back up to a small bayou that runs into Lake Pontchartrain.  We cannot build on it, but it is extremely quiet and relaxing listening to the leaves rustle in the trees and hearing the sounds of nature all around.

Cozy little breakfast nook off of the living area and kitchen.

Above are the front foyer and entrance to the dining room.  The antique gilded carved wooden chandeliers are absolutely incredible and make such a statement when you walk into the house.  They might be one of my very favorite parts of the house!  A majority of the floors in the home are blond travertine, which I was a little uncertain about initially, but we had them polished and sealed and they are gorgeous!  Very easy to keep up so far too with minimal upkeep.

A few Tiffany treasures on display and a fully stocked bar, we're ready for a party! :)

This is the view of the kitchen from the dining room, it is such a warm and cozy kitchen.  I have thoroughly been enjoying cooking again, and whipped up two fabulous dinners this weekend that I will have to share the recipes for soon!

The custom stucco hood in the kitchen is stunning.

I love the way the light flows throughout the house...even on rainy days the house has such a sense of warmth to it.  The granite in the kitchen is a beautiful blend of silvers and golds.

I did manage to put out a few fall decorations over the weekend!  I love the way these glass pumpkins play off of the colors in the kitchen and in the pendant lights.

Here's one last shot of the living area again from the kitchen nook.  The entertainment center was custom built to match the kitchen cabinets and really ties the area together, I adore it.  Since Jolie has pretty much claimed my new chaise lounge as hers, I was having to tip toe around her napping to snap these photos :)   Couldn't help but include a picture of my sweet puppy.  Can you believe how big she has gotten?

I hope you enjoyed the first look, I promise lots more to come soon!  If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask, I will do my best to reply to all of your emails.  Thank you to all you dear readers for sticking with me and being patient with my very inconsistent posting these days...We'll be settled soon, work travel will slow down, and I'll be back to regular blogging by the end of the month!

Special thanks to our families and friends for all the love and support...we are over the moon floating on cloud nine and we don't plan on coming down anytime soon :)

Lots of fall love to y'all!
xoxo
