Baby Love

This little puppy came into our lives Friday afternoon needing a home, and we instantly fell in love.  A visit to the vet on Saturday revealed that she is a tiny five-week-old Chi-Poo (Chihuaua-Poodle) weighing just 1.6 lbs.  She is docile and affectionate with plenty of pep and spunk, and we are absolutely smitten.

Meet our sweet baby Jolie!
xoxo

P.S. Of course my little love is going to need some fabulous puppy accessories.  I'm already envisioning a mini pink and green monogrammed collar.  Please tell me where to shop!

Pink & Green Thursday: Carnival Time!

Hello, Hello and Happy Pink and Green Thursday!

I hope your week has been absolutely fabulous so far.  Big hugs and thanks to everyone who linked up last week, a warm welcome to the new linky buddies and friends too!  Just a little reminder for those who might not be aware, anyone is welcome to join us for this fun and festive day, just grab the button code off of my sidebar, blog about your favorite pink and green things of the week.  There are no rules or themes (although that might be fun, Pam!) so please feel free to jump on the blog hop and play along!

As you might suspect, down here in New Orleans we are in full-on Mardi Gras mode!  Turn up the volume, this song is sure to get you in the mood!  The city has such a fun buzz this time of year as we gear up for the next two weeks of festivities, parades and parties.  Although Mardi Gras gets a reputation for Bourbon Street debauchery, the Carnival season is actually very family friendly.  There is nothing I love more than day parades, seeing children's ladders lined up on St. Charles Avenue, grabbing a beer from Fat Harry's or Ms. Mae's, and meeting up with friends along the parade route.

While Mardi Gras is all about the purple, green and gold, this engagement photo shoot on Style Me Pretty was just too perfect for this week's Pink & Green Thursday.  The couple was torn between having a destination wedding in New Orleans or the Caribbean.  Although they were ultimately wed in the Bahamas, they had their engagement portraits shot here in the Big Easy at Mardi Gras World and in the French Quarter.  I would LOVE to dress up and do a little photo shoot like this - now I just need a photographer! :)

Absolutely adorable, don't you think?

For more Mardi Gras goodness, you MUST go visit the lovely Jen of I'm A Nola Girl.  She is a riding member of the wildly popular Krewe of Muses.   She has written some beautiful posts over the years about her Mardi Gras experience and how much it means to her.  I've been fortunate to see her shoe decorating studio in her home, and she just posted her sparkly Muses shoe collection here.  Melanie has her sign made and I am working on mine - we are hoping to get lucky and score a Muses shoe this year!  (Hey, Pretty Lady!)

Happy Pink & Green Thursday, and Happy Mardi Gras Y'all!
xoxo
