I'm smiling today because the sun is shining, it's the weekend,

I'm loving these two dresses below...
What's on your must-have list?

I love how Cocodot changes their Lilly Pulitzer stationery seasonally.  These cards below are from the Resort patterns...isn't the "Love Letter" postcard just parfait for Valentine's Day?
I can't wait for the Spring patterns to come out as well.

I sent the "Dinner Party" invite to sweet Jen at I'm a Nola Girl this week, as she and her hubby Mark are coming over tomorrow night for cocktails, dinner and lots of laughs.  The weather is going to be lovely, I've got a fabulous menu planned, and we are going celebrate being home in New Orleans with great friends.  Isn't it amazing how we can meet such fantastic friends through the blog world? :)

What are your plans for the weekend?
Sending warm, sunny Springtime thoughts your way!

Pink & Green Thursday: Mrs. Lilien

Hello dears, and Happy Pink & Green Thursday!

I have a real treat for you today.  I recently came across a blog that was new to me, and I absolutely fell head over heels in love.  Do you know Mrs. Lilien?

A fabulous prop stylist and amazing graphic designer, Kelley Lilien is the creative genius behind her delightful blog, Mrs. Lilien - Styling House.  From her blog, "In her constant  pursuit of finding spirited and inspired ways to bring good design into the world, she has created and styled everything from entire companies to cookie wrappers. She delights in the unexpected, has a fierce obsession with bold color, a wicked sense of humor and a passion for the good life."

To say that I am smitten with her cheeky-chic work is quite the understatement!

Gorgeous baubles from the lovely Elva Fields from Kelley's post Accessorize with Abandon.

An exciting game of Bligno with the ladies via Begin With High Stakes In Mind - love, love, love!

Who wouldn't want to kick off those adorable gold shoes and curl up with a cupcake?

Fabulous Chanel watch, and I adore the gumdrops in the champagne flutes, how clever!

Of course we all could use a dose of sunshine in the form of a cheerful yellow Kate Spade handbag.
Instant Vitamin D!

Cocktails by the pool, anyone?

Mrs. Lilien and I share the same taste in music too!  Raphael Saadiq and Mayer Hawthorne are on my iPod daily on repeat.
Have you heard Raphael's new single, "Radio?"
Video here - Major kudos to the stylist for the video, I love all of the outfits!

Lovely lime pom-poms, perfect for Pink & Green Thursday!

Pink and Green cocktail creations = A perfectly preppy happy hour.
Chin-chin!

As if it couldn't get any better, this lovely lady is also fellow a LILLY LOVER!
Check out her charming interview on Lilly's blog!

Given the chilly temperatures, I'll leave you with Mrs. Lilien's very Lilly-esque philosophy on travel:

"She considers herself a jet-set escape artist - ready at any given moment to jaunt off to the places that she's fondest. Her philosophy is rather simple yet staunch - only bring what's vital so that the water taxi can launch. A good get-away doesn't garner copious amounts of loot - a versatile suit, a sun hat and spf to boot, and a good beach read is absolute!  This is the life of Mrs. Gotta-Get-Away - when the weather gets chilly, she packs her trunks and is gone the very next day!"

Wishing you each a delectable Pink & Green Thursday!
Please be sure to visit some of the blogs on the blog hop for more pink and green goodness, and thanks to everyone who links up!
xoxo

All images via Mrs. Lilien's blog and portfolio with very special thanks for the magical inspiration.
I could get lost in her beautiful archives for days!

Smarties Valentine Cupcakes

Hello there sweets!
Hope your week is off to a great start.
The cold, dreary weather has me in the mood for some homemade baked goodies, and this recipe below is cute, quick and easy.  Perfect for Valentine's Day right around the corner too!

Smarties Valentine Cupcakes

1 box yellow cake mix (or your favorite flavor)
2 sticks unsalted butter, at room temperature
3 cups confectioner’s sugar
1-2 tablespoons heavy cream
Red food coloring, as desired
Smarties Valentine Hearts

Cupcakes:

Follow the package directions to make cupcakes. Bake in cupcake liners and allow the cupcakes to cool completely before frosting.

Frosting:

Beat butter in a stand mixer until creamy.

Add the confectioner’s sugar, beating well until light and fluffy. With the mixer on, add the cream one tablespoon at a time, adding just enough to make the frosting a spreadable consistency.

Add the red food coloring, a drop or two at a time, until you’ve reached the desired pink color. Blend well.

Place the frosting in a pastry bag fitted with a star tip. Pipe onto cupcakes.

Decorate with Smarties Valentine hearts and share with someone you love!

ENJOY!
xoxo

Poolside with Tory Burch

Happy Friday my sweet friends!
I was fortunate to escape the bitter cold temperatures and snow in NY, and got home very late last night, with my sweet smiling hubby waiting for me at the airport.   While it is still rather chilly here in New Orleans, all that I can do is continue to live in my fantasy land of bikinis, espadrilles and warm weather, especially after seeing these delightful images from Tory Burch's Resort 2011 line.

Grab a towel and a delicious cold beverage, and join me for a poolside chat, won't you? Ahh, we can wish for now... ;-)

Special thanks to all who participated in yesterday's Pink & Green Thursday, I can't wait to come by and see your beautiful and inspiring posts.  Exciting to see some new faces too!

Have the BEST weekend, and stay warm!
