Pink and Green Thursday: Wedding Weekend Up North + Giveaway Winner!

Hi everyone!  Happy, happy Pink & Green Thursday!

As you're reading this, I am en route to Northern Michigan for one of my dear friends' bayside wedding!  This is my first time in the area, and we're excited to be making a long weekend out of the trip.  We'll be spending some sailing time in the Little Traverse Bay area, and the sweet couple is also hosting a fun day of boating and BBQ at their personal vacation cottage the day after the wedding!

(Kindness and special thanks to AEOT at Up North Preppy for the fabulous fun list of things to do while we're in town!  Sorry we'll miss you this visit! xx Are any of you familiar with the area too?)

A great big welcome to the new followers this week, and sincere thanks again to all, especially the friends that play along each week; it means so much to me.  Thank you SO MUCH for spreading the pink and green love!

As always, you're all invited to link up below on the blog hop, just grab the button from my sidebar, show us your pink and green favorites of the week, and add your link to the list below. Be sure to visit some of the blogs on the hop for some wonderful pink and green eye candy, and new friends you seriously do not want to miss!

In honor of the bride-to-be and her favorite color, I'm going to change up this week's Pink & Green Thursday post just a bit.  One of my favorite things about colors, is that there are the many shades and varieties.   I often find that pink and purple complement each other so nicely, so this week, as a toast to my dear friend, I'm going to incorporate some purple into the Pink & Green fun!

To Jules, wishing you a lovely wedding weekend, we can't wait to celebrate with you!

Looking forward to a weekend with great friends, lots of sunshine...

An outdoor town street fair, I'll be looking for pink and green (and a little purple too!) in the least expected places...

Of course, we'll be getting our party on!

Plenty of sunset boat cruises...Jules loves her boat, it's her baby!

Hours of sitting outside telling old stories by candlelight, late into the night...

Perhaps some ice cream, or gelato...

Or a cupcake or two, why not!

Although Jules is a NYC girl now, she can't wait to get back home to Michigan; this magical day has been a long time in the planning...

...all the hard work has paid off and now it's time to celebrate!

When Jules and I were suitemates in college, I was majoring in Fashion, so she got very used to seeing me cutting patterns and sewing, or with my nose in fashion books and magazines...

Every now and then she'd let me take her shopping and dress her up!

And like most girlfriends, we always let each other raid the other's closet during fashion emergencies!

We shared a flat in London while I was at the London College of Fashion, and she attended the University of Westminster for Journalism.  A cozy top floor, two-story flat in Maida Vale, remember those stairs Jules?

Although I did most of the cooking, Jules always brought home flowers for our apartment!

My question is...whether or not this beautiful bride will be wearing purple heels?

Somehow I wouldn't be surprised!

A beautiful bubbles send off for the bride and groom as they leave their reception....

Cheers to a lifetime of love, laughter, and happily ever after...We love you both!

  17. Hi sweetie! Where do I even start with this post? You have outdone yourself once again. I hope you have a great time at your friends’ wedding and boating on the bay sounds like a great time. You’re in for fun weekend!

It was fun to see some purple in here too in honor of your friend. I love the guys jumping on the beach with sunset in the background. The pink building and purple shutters are also so pretty. The mason jars all over the lawn lit by candlelight warm my heart. So pretty and it looks amazing. The rainbow cupcake with purple frosting also looks gorgeous.

I love the way you told the story your friendship with Jules. I bet you had some fun times at the flat in London!

The purple heels with the leopard print bottoms are so unique. Love them!

Congrats to the lucky winner of your giveaway.

I also agree that we must get together again soon. When you get back, let me know some weekends that you’re free. I miss you and Mattt. Geof was even asking for you two last weekend! XOXO

  18. What gorgeous, vibrant colors and what a beautiful toast to a friend! Pink and purple were my favorite colors when I was a little girl (I even begged my parents to paint our house pink with purple shutters... can you IMAGINE what the neighbhors would have thought?!), so I loved this post. The high fashion images, the purple shoes with the bows, the spiral staircases, the balloons... this post has me positively giddy.

Have a fabulous time at the wedding as you celebrate with your dear friend - there is no doubt in my mind that you will. PS - my final fitting for my gown is tonight... I cannot wait to put it on for REAL and celebrate the big day soon! Kisses on each cheek! XO

  25. Have a safe trip darling and enjoy the wedding festivities, and the hopefully cooler northern weather!

Have I told you how very insanely ridiculously envious I am of your time spent in London... Oh how I dream of living in a foreign city if only for one semester... I'm hoping to plan a foreign clinical rotation for one of my medical school rotations since I was unable to study abroad in undergrad... although most foreign med school rotations are to places with drastic medical need and as such tend to be much less romantic than Paris and London, but none the less I hear adventure calling.....

Anyway love, miss you, travel safely!
