I am thoroughly enjoying all your comments about your upcoming Easter celebrations! (and those who have relaxing weekend plans that don't involve Easter too!) I love reading about your family traditions; such fun, happy times.
1. We're headed back to D.C. this weekend to celebrate our birthdays as well as Easter with family and friends. Of course we will also get to see the cherry blossoms! I am like a little kid on Christmas morning when I am around those little pink blossoms; positively giddy I tell you. I literally take hundreds of pictures, I can't get enough!
2. Champagne Saturday started early this week! (I'm sure Megan & Kristin won't object, right girls?!) There has been much pink champagne consumed this birthday week. Aren't these Tiffany champagne flutes adorable? HEARTS! My brother gave me two sets for Christmas. I'm so lucky the men in my life know me so well!
3. Thanks to a brilliant suggestion from Melanie (who won the same cocktail cookbook I posted about that SAME DAY!), I am going to be making the "Brake Tag" cocktail, from "In the Land of Cocktails" at this weekend's birthday bash.
Brake Tag
1 oz Southern Comfort (or other bourbon)
1 oz Amaretto
1 oz orange juice
1 oz cranberry juice
1 orange wedge
1 maraschino cherry
Combine the bourbon, amaretto, orange and cranberry juices in a cocktail shaker with ice and shake vigorously. Strain the cocktail into a highball glass filled with ice. Skewer the orange wedge and cherry on a cocktail pick, place in glass, and serve immediately.
(I am going to substitute orangecello for OJ!)
4. Check out all the pretty pinks and greens in this wedding, featured on the fabulous site, Style Me Pretty. I am absolutely in love with the bride's wedding gown! Don't you love all the paper lanterns too?
6. Lovely JMW posted "In Your Easter Bonnet" this week, and it got me thinking a lot about Easter dresses that I wore as a child. So many fun memories of Easter egg hunts with my siblings and cousins, wearing smocked dresses and easter bonnets. My grandmother used to be an amazing and brilliant seamstress. She designed my cousin Lauren and I the most incredible dresses and bonnets with no patterns, no measurements..she could just look at us and know exactly how it would fit. She even made matching dresses for our dolls! We'd always change into a "play" dress in the afternoon, so as not to ruin our "pretties."
Speaking of little dolls, check out these sweet Easter outfits below.
Makes my baby fever kick in BIG TIME!
Wishing you and yours a joyous Easter holiday weekend! Can't wait to see all your pretty Easter outfits and hear about your festivities.
Don't forget to enter my Easter Giveaway if you haven't had a chance to do so yet. I'll be announcing the Lilly winner on Monday morning!

My grandmother was also an amazing seamstress and I’ll never forget some of her creations. I wish that her skills had rubbed off on me. I cannot sew at all!
