Heading home to New Orleans!

M and I have our bags packed and ready to go! Home to New Orleans for a whole 8 days! We'll get to catch up with our sweet family, see 94 year old Grandma, meet baby Skylar Mackenzie who is almost one month old, and enjoy all the sights and sounds of our favorite city :) (Especially the Morning Call beignets!)

We have a M & T night planned at the Windsor Court Hotel the night before Thanksgiving. I've had so many fun memories enjoying teas and parties here...what a treat to ring in a special holiday with my favorite guy :)

What an interesting year it has been. We have so many hopes and dreams for the New Year...in the meantime, we would be remiss to not recognize all the good that has brought us to where we are.

With all my love, wishing you and yours the very happiest of Thanksgivings, hopefully surrounded by all whom you love the most too. Quite thankful for all of our blessings.

Lilly Originals Catalog

Weren't the postcards adorable? Such a cute and clever idea. I am going to address and send my Lilly-grams this weekend. I love the hand-me-down message from the new "Lilly Loves Green" campaign.

From the Lilly Pulitzer Press Release: "Beyond being 'sustainable' in concept, the collection itself is also eco-friendly: All hangtags and in-garment labels are made of 100% recycled material. The collection is officially endorsed by Cotton, Inc., and the dye process in which the garments are printed is internationally certified as using low-impact dye, eliminating any harmful by-products."

Awesome!

My two faves are the Memsey Dress in Aquamarine In the Slim, and the Original Carry On in Not So Crabby.

What's on your list??

XOXO

Halloween and GO SAINTS!

October was a crazy month.. CRAZY! Full of fun, full of work, full of ups and downs. An exciting potential opportunity for a great career move for M fell through. There were birthdays! And galas! And tons of baked goods :) And a new baby girl for my sweet cousin! All of which I did not do the best job of documenting...but we lived it up and made the best of it.

Now we move on and wait for the next opportunities that await us. Although we've had so much change over the past 5 years, we trust and know that (as M says) "IT'S ALL GOOD!!!"

My Dad turned 55 this week! As the CFO of a prominent non-profit organization, it is amazing to see his delight in his company's annual Gala. This year's event theme was "Cirque Dreams" - a family friendly Cirque de Soleil event, complete with an "Under the Big Top" theme! Delicious grilled vegetables, corndogs, cotton candy, and a full beautiful spread to boot! The performances were amazing, and all for an amazing cause.

And nothing but the best for Dad - Georgetown Cupcake never disappoints! We had monogrammed New Orleans Saints-themed birthday cupcakes at home after the Gala. Delicious!

He is the most amazing father EVER! I am the oldest of 4, and I can honestly say that my dad has taught me so much about life and love. His love for my mother is truly the most endearing I've personally witnessed. All I hoped for in a husband was that he could have some of the qualities of my dad. Lucky for me, the two could not be more alike and are BFF'S! (Fun fact! The house M grew up, and my Grandma's house where my Dad grew up, are less than a mile apart!)

We sort of missed the leaves this year. One of our favorite things about living up North and we hardly got to document it this year. Work has been crazy, and we didn't get to do our annual visit to Longwood Gardens to see the foliage and greenhouse. I got to snap a few pics this week before all the leaves fell, and we got to go the annual Chadds Ford Pumpkin Carving...very cool.

And on to our OWN pumpkin carving! Hmm...have you ever seen a cuter, preppier pumpkin bunch??!!

Hmm...let's get a little closer...

Oh yes, that's a Lilly P bow on a hand painted pumpkin :)

Oh! And for Vineyard Vines - yes, our very own perfectly preppy Vineyard Vines pumpkin!

And our New Orleans Saints. What a season it has been! We BELIEVE! Next up - MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL! Let's make it 7-0!!!

We dressed up in our Saints gear last night and I wore my platinum blonde Mardi Gras wig - so fun especially with the Saints BOW!! M was so cute last night... Opened the door saying "BOO DAT" instead of "WHO DAT"! The trick-or-treaters pulled their little preppy pre-made candy bags out of his helmet. Priceless :)

Through it all, we are so very fortunate. XOXO

Hope everyone's fall is bringing much fun and many blessings.
